"a beginner's guide to Objeto Amarelo" is a compilation collecting a diverse assemblage of Objeto Amarelo miniatures produced over 20 years between 1999 and 2019.
Carlos Issa is well known in the Brazilian underground scene for his experimental music project Objeto Amarelo [Yellow Object], founded in 1999, that explores various layers of sound solo in the studio and as a trio on the stage.
He was born in São Paulo where he lives and works.
His practice incorporates abstract drawing, sound art, experimental design and photography.
He has curated experimental music events and participated in art collectives such as “Supercollina”, at Galeria Logo and “Conversão”, at Galeria Sé, both in São Paulo.
He has contributed to group exhibitions both in Brazil and abroad, such as “Tropical Funk” at the Whitechapel Gallery in London and “Dobra” at Ferme du Buisson in Paris.
Since 2018 Carlos has being represented by Galeria Sé.
