about

Gaudenz Badrutt internal & external feedback, effects, sinewaves, voice, live sampling [LiSa]

"The pieces in 'conditions' reflect situations of fragility, instability and uncertainty in diverse states. One, like 'statics‘, seems to be stable, but could suddenly change.
Others are generally unstable and irregular – but over time they become another state. One gets used to it, even in conditions that are actually untenable"

Gaudenz Badrutt is an electroacoustic musician who has worked for more than 20 years in the fields of improvised and composed music - he initially studied classical piano with a focus on contemporary music.
His electroacoustic music is characterized by an instrumental use of computer/live sampling and electronic devices.
He also works with sound and video installation and musicology.

Gaudenz is known for his collaborations with Jonas Kocher (accordion) and Hans Koch (clarinets, soprano saxophone), as one half of the electroacoustic duo Strøm, and as a solo performer. Gaudenz is currently working on projects with Ilia Belorukov, Christof Kurzmann, Kai Fagaschinski, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Frantz Loriot, Urs Leimgruber, Jacques Demierre, Alfred Zimmerlin and Daniel Studer. He has performed at the festivals Sound (Dis)obedience Ljubljana, RingRing Belgrade, Music Unlimited Wels, Le Bruit de la Musique Saint-Silvain-sous-Toulx France, Sanatorium of Sound Poland, Irtijal Beirut, Zwei Tage Strom Zürich, Transmediale Berlin, and Taktlos/Tonart Bern.
