Jukka-Pekka Kervinen trumpet, electronics, digital synthesis, coding
The 'effect of clouds' pieces are part of my ongoing process of using recycled materials, usually (like in this case) my own free improvisations.
For this release I recorded 3-4 new free improvisations using various digital sources, and one experimental trumpet improvisation. I added some older improvisations as a pool of material, wrote a software program to make stochastic variations of the pool. After that the stochastically-generated material is run through another set of programs, written in the ChucK live coding audio language, to make even more variations to the original improvisations - like a second and third 'perspective' of the overall pool of material; trying to find all kinds of combinations of sounds relating to the originals, surprising (at least for me) elements, permutations, possible new sonic 'worlds', but still related to the original pool of material.
