dedicated to the memory of
Geert Feytons (1967-2006)
"Negative Entropy was my duo with my good friend, the Belgian sound sculptor and composer Geert Feytons (RIP). We were active between 1995-2005, and released two CDs (‘City Open To The Nomad’ and ‘Live on the MS Stubnitz’) [available here:
noise-below.bandcamp.com/album/negative-entropy-ms-stubnitz-stockholm-9-07-1998 ] and a few compilation tracks at the time. There was also a stack of unreleased recordings, which after Geert’s death, I was unable to listen to for many years.
Thanks to some prompting by Liam Stefani, who organised our performance in Glasgow, I have begun dusting off the old tapes, which include many live recordings. Geert racked up tens of thousands of miles driving his battered van full of sound sculptures around Europe for performances. Liam has just released this recording of our Glasgow performance on his scatter label, in which we were joined by Emma P. O’Bong." [Michael Prime]
