Off Brand has nae idea what Joe Public wants.
Khnaisser & Robertson are oblivious to the zeitgeist and are confounded by the contrariness of contemporary commonality.
Joe Public is so deeply engaged in the solo assessment of it’s own navel crevices that the amount of hours it has accrued monitoring the online video-documented real-time responses of strangers to things that they (& it) care nothing about is enough to make a non-idiomatic improv duo exclaim both “EH?!?!” and/or “TFEH”.
For reasons above, and more (and less), when scatterArchive supremo Liam Stefani requested that Off Brand respond to The XIII Ghosts’ 1996 opus ‘Giganti Reptilicus Destructo Beam’, the lads acknowledged the parallels betwixt this commission and the faux surprise feigned by YeChoob hams and observed an opportunity to capitalise upon the aforementioned hypocrisy of the current climate by excreting an album devoid of relevance beyond the most tangential reference to the task at hand. A collection of instant compositions that would trigger a collective indifference fae Auld Joe Public & it’s fellow Bandycampers.
Meanwhile: Switch & Ward sigh, Dukowski & Ginn consult with lawyers and Stefani contemplates updating his refund policy.

Ali Robertson has been making himself & others blush as the Giant Tank Institute For Low-Brow Avant-Thought’s resident organiser/improviser for more than two decades. He continues to court public shame alongside Malcy Duff in the duo Usurper while sporadically pleading for redemption via the Sonic Bothy ensemble.

Lebanese experimentalist Firas Khnaisser is an improviser of many moods. His laidback & free demeanour camouflages the intensity of his playing. As his daughter would say, he’s “like an angry asteroid. The one that killed the dinosaurs”.
