about

Alan Newcombe saxophones
James O’Sullivan electric guitar
Chris Hill clarinet, amplified electronics

tectonic murmurings, clouds of static, plummeting landscapes - three voices badger, bark, mewl, whimper, bellow - vacuum? -occulted sonics - rediscovered, mediated, beaten and forged - alembic - recast in an extended studio session - ethereal/abyssal - always committed

Our association stems from our being regular attendees of Eddie Prévost's improvisational workshop. The trio has been active for about a year, although we have played together in several other contexts for a number of years, for example, through Chris Hill’s ‘Babble’ series of improvised concerts, and our involvement in Phil Morton’s 50-50 series. Chris plays clarinet, amplified objects, electronics, triggered recordings and other unspecified things on this record. Alan plays saxophones; I play my usual set-up of (un)prepared electric guitar. Alan describes our sound as ’Spector meets Stockhausen’... [James O'Sullivan]
